Dental Tooth Supported Bridge

Dental bridges are commonly used to replace one or more missing teeth. They are called bridges because they span the gap where the teeth are missing. The bridge is anchored by crowns, which are placed on the teeth adjacent to the space. These two or more anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth. The teeth filling the space are called pontics and can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials. We encourage the use of porcelain, as our goal is to make your smile as natural and as pleasing to you as possible.

Dental Bridges can:

  • Restore your ability to speak and chew
  • Maintain the shape of your cheeks
  • Distribute the forces and correct your bite
  • Protect your remaining teeth by holding them in position.

Unlike removable dentures, which you can take out and clean, bridges are cemented onto the natural abutment teeth and are meant to be permanent.

With proper dental hygiene to protect the abutment teeth from decay, a bridge can last a lifetime. Bridges are one of the many options offered at DenteVita Prosthodontics and the Practice of Dr. Aldo Leopardi. To learn more about bridges and other cosmetic dental options, please call 720-488-7677.  We’ll be happy to arrange for a consultation to discuss your needs.
